WILSON, N.C. | Young Harris College Volleyball dropped a four-set road match to Barton College on Saturday (Nov. 1) afternoon at Wilson Gymnasium. 

The Mountain Lions opened strong with a 25-23 win in the first set, but Barton responded with three straight set victories to take the match 3-1. The Bulldogs claimed the final three sets 25-20, 25-23, and 25-16. 

With the loss, Young Harris falls to 8-17 overall and 5-12 in Conference Carolinas play. Barton improves to 7-17 overall and 4-13 in league action. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• Young Harris hit .324 in the opening set, their best percentage of the match. 

• Abby Schirm led the Mountain Lions with 15 kills, hitting .225, and added 7 digs and 4 block assists for a team-high 15.0 points. 

• Alexa Berry contributed 7 kills on a .462 hitting percentage with 1 block assist. 

• Kathryn Urbanek added 6 kills, 3 total blocks, and 1 dig for 9.5 points. 

• Hannah Depp recorded 6 kills, 3 service aces, and 3 digs. 

• Lyza Thigpen dished out 16 assists and added 8 digs. 

• Linsey Burke tallied 13 assists, 2 aces, and 8 digs. 

• Lexie Martin led the defense with 13 digs and added 1 assist. 

• Young Harris totaled 40 kills, 36 assists, 7 aces, 6 blocks, and 47 digs. 

• Barton was led by Lexi Wasil with 16 kills and Paige Bagwell with 37 assists and 8 digs.
