YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College volleyball team dropped a hard-fought match to Francis Marion University 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-23) on Saturday (Oct. 25) afternoon at The Harp Recreation & Commencement Center. 

Despite a late rally in the third set, the Mountain Lions (8-16, 5-11 Conference Carolinas) were unable to overcome the Patriots (16-8, 13-1 Conference Carolinas), who maintained consistent offensive pressure throughout the match. Abby Schirm led the way for Young Harris with 9 kills and 15 digs, while Hannah Depp added 8 kills and 13 digs. 

The Mountain Lions showed improvement in each set, hitting .178 in the third frame and pushing Francis Marion to the brink before falling just short. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• Abby Schirm paced the offense with 9 kills and added 15 digs. 

• Hannah Depp contributed 8 kills and 13 digs, while Kathryn Urbanek added 5 kills and 2 blocks. 

• Lyza Thigpen led the team with 14 assists and added 8 digs and 1 service ace. 

• Linsey Burke chipped in 9 assists and 1 ace, while Lexie Martin anchored the defense with a team-high 19 digs. 

• Alexa Berry led the blocking effort with 5 block assists, and Lauren DeSilets added 2 blocks while hitting .308. 

• Young Harris totaled 42.0 points, 2 service aces, and 14 total blocks.
