YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris Volleyball went the distance against Southern Wesleyan University Wednesday evening but came up short in a 3-2 decision at The Harp Recreation & Commencement Center. 

The Mountain Lions opened strong with a 25-22 first-set win and responded again in the third with a 25-16 victory, but the Warriors edged out the final two sets to seal the match. Abby Schirm led the way with a match-high 20 kills and added 18 digs for a double-double. Kathryn Urbanek and Alexa Berry also contributed offensively with 10 and 9 kills, respectively. 

Young Harris totaled 61 kills and 53 assists. The Mountain Lions move to 7-15 overall and 4-10 in Conference Carolinas play. Southern Wesleyan improves to 10-7 overall and 8-5 in conference action. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• Abby Schirm led all players with 20 kills and added three aces. 

• Alexa Berry hit .471 and led YH with four blocks. 

• Lyza Thigpen finished with 25 assists and 16 digs. 

• Lexie Martin recorded a match-high 20 digs and two aces. 

• Kathryn Urbanek added 10 kills and three blocks. 

• Young Harris had six service aces and six total blocks.
