YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Freshman Samuel Ankelstam made a big impact for the Young Harris College Men's Golf team at the King University Invitational in Bristol, Tennessee. The Stockholm, Sweden native fired back-to-back rounds of 67 to finish six-under par with a two-round total of 134, tying for third place individually. His strong play helped lead the Mountain Lions to a runner-up team finish in the tournament. Ankelstam's performance also earned him recognition as Conference Carolinas Co-Golfer of the Week alongside teammate Adrian Ronn. Adding to his accomplishments, Ankelstam was named Young Harris College's Mountain Lion of the Week for his outstanding showing.
Abby Schirm put together an impressive three-match stretch for Young Harris volleyball. She opened with 15 kills, 14 digs, and 2 blocks against Southern Wesleyan, showing her all-around impact in a five-set battle. Schirm followed that up with a double-double of 14 kills and 15 digs versus Lees-McRae, then closed the week with 11 kills and a season-high 23 digs against King. Her consistency and two-way play made her the Mountain Lions' most dominant performer of the week, and she was honored as Young Harris College's Mountain Lion of the Week for her outstanding efforts.
