YOUNG HARRIS, GA | Dylan Dicicco and Wyatt Whipp have been promoted to interim head coaches for YHC Cross Country/Track and Field. Dicicco will take on interim head coach duties for the track and field program while Whipp will assume interim head coach duties for cross country.

"We are excited to announce both Coach Whipp and Coach Dicicco as Interim Head Coaches for our cross country and track and field programs," said Young Harris College Athletic Director Dr. Michael Ross. "Both coaches have expressed their desire and enthusiasm to continue leading their student athletes in a meaningful and influential manner both on and off the field. Their experience and passion for Young Harris College and these student athletes make them a fantastic fit to help further each program's success as we approach the academic school year and their respective seasons."

Dicicco earned this promotion following his stint as an assistant coach for the XC/Track and Field program. In his time as an assistant coach, the Mountain Lions underwent major success and saw steady improvement. In the 2025-2026 season, YHC earned a second-place finish at the Conference Carolinas Men's Cross Country Championships and placed six runners on the All-Conference team. The success in cross country carried over to the track and field season, bringing home two first-place finishes on the men's side as well as two top five finishes on the women's side at the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The Mountain Lions showed similar success at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track and Field Championships with two top five finishes on both the men's and women's side while crowning a first-place champion for the men's heptathlon.

Whipp has been named the interim head coach for cross country after serving as assistant coach for XC/Track and Field. Whipp joined the staff as an assistant coach with an experienced athletic background. Before transferring to Young Harris for his senior season, Whipp competed at Mississippi College where he made two appearances in the NCAA D2 National Meet. At Young Harris, Whipp helped lead the team to a runner-up finish at the Conference Championship, being named First-Team All-Conference after a 3rd place finish in the Conference Carolinas Championship Cross Country Meet. Whipp also showcased his ability to be a true student-athlete, earning a spot on the USTFCCCA All-Academic team.
