YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Mountain Lions showed heart and hustle Friday evening, outlasting the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in a five-set battle inside The Harp Recreation & Commencement Center. Young Harris jumped out to a 2–0 lead before Belmont Abbey stormed back to force a decisive fifth set. In a back-and-forth finale, it was Abby Schirm who delivered the final kill to seal the 3–2 victory for the Purple & White.
Abby Schirm is YOUR player of the match! Schirm led the way with a dominant 25 kills and 13 digs, including the match-winner in set five. Her .328 hitting percentage and clutch performance powered the Mountain Lions to their third straight win.
The victory moves Young Harris to 7–11 overall (surpassing last seasons win total) and 4–6 in Conference Carolinas play, while Belmont Abbey drops to 8–8 overall and 4–5 in conference action.
