Greeneville, Tenn.| Young Harris took on the Pioneers from Tusculum University on Saturday (Feb. 10) afternoon. YHC ended the first period, trailing 5-4, but outscored the Pioneers 4-0 in the second period to take an 8-5 lead into halftime. The Mountain Lions would keep that lead until late in the fourth period, when Tusculum tied it up at 13. With just 23 seconds remaining in the game, Colburn Connelly netted the game winning goal.
YHC improved to 1-1 this season, as Tusculum fell to 0-1 overall. The Mountain Lions return to action next Wednesday (Feb. 14) afternoon, where they take on Mars Hill University at 3 p.m. in Mars Hill, North Carolina.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Tommy Chriszt and Colburn Connelly each scored three goals, Chriszt also added four assists for seven total points scored.
- Chase Penner was the leading scorer for Tusculum, netting seven goals on just seven shots.
- Jacob Haas picked up 14 ground balls and scored a goal.
- Young Harris outshot Tusculum 33-24
- YHC picked up 42 ground balls compared to TU's 38.
