TIGERVILLE, S.C. | Young Harris College volleyball dropped a tough conference road match, 3-1 to North Greenville on Saturday afternoon. The Trailblazers took set one, but YHC responded in set two (25-21) to even the score at 1-1. North Greenville scored five of the last seven points to take set three and closed out the match with a 25-18 victory in set four.
QUOTING HEAD COACH JENNY MICHAEL:
"We had spurts where we played really good volleyball today. Unfortunately, this sport is more marathon than sprint and those spurts didn't get us across the finish line. This group continues to crave progress, and we're excited to get back to work on Monday."
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Abby Schirm, Shelby Mullins, and Lily Hidalgo led YHC's offense posting 11, 9, and 8 kills respectively.
- Joha Bernis had a game-high five service aces and 22 digs.
- North Greenville had 55 kills and assists to Young Harris' 42 kills and 38 assists
- Both teams posted eight total blocks. Mullins posted a match-high five blocks.
- North Greenville had the upper hand in hitting percentage, .224 to .153.
