YOUNG HARRIS, GA | The Young Harris College Volleyball team picked up a 3-1 Conference Carolinas win over Converse University Friday (Sept. 15th) evening at The Harp Recreation and Fitness Center. The 3-1 victory was the first win for the Mountain Lions at home, the first Conference win, and the program broke the season record for wins.
YHC improves to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in Conference Carolinas while CU falls to 0-8 and 0-1. The Mountain Lions return to action Saturday (Sept. 16th) with a 2 p.m. Conference Carolinas match against Belmont Abbey at home.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Lily Hidalgo and Chase Vaigneur led YHC in kills.
- Hidalgo spiked a total of 19 while Vaigneur added 12.
- The Valkyries took set one 25-20, but the Mountain Lions rallied for three straight set wins to earn the victory.
- The match consisted of 17 tie scores and seven lead changes.
- Joha Bernis recorded 18 digs for YHC.
