YOUNG HARRIS, GA. Down 0-2 after two sets, the Mountain Lions rallied and won two straight to force a fifth. Belmont Abbey came out on top 15-8 in the the fifth set to earn the victory.
The Mountain Lions move to 4-5 overall and remain 1-1 in Conference Carolinas, and the Crusaders move to 1-9 and 1-1. YHC continues conference play Wednesday (Sept. 20th) at home as they take on Southern Wesleyan at 6pm.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Belmont Abbey took the first two sets (25-21) and (25-23), while Young Harris won the next two sets (25-23) and (25-22). The Crusaders finished with a 5th set win (15-8).
- Lily Hidalgo and Chase Vaigneur led the Mountain Lions in kills, with 11 and 12 respectively. Faith Kelly added 10.
- Cameron Young had a 14-kill game this evening, the kill high for the Crusaders.
- Lyza Thigpen recorded 33 assists, on YHC's 36 total.
- Joha Bernis totaled 24 digs for YHC, Tyler Case totaled 16 digs for Belmont Abbey.
