DAHLONEGA, Ga. | The No. 8 University of North Georgia women's tennis team recorded a 6-1 Peach Belt Conference victory over their Blood Mountain rival Young Harris College Thursday (April 6) afternoon at the UNG Tennis Complex.
The Nighthawks improved to 11-4 overall and to 4-1 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 7-10 and 1-3. YHC returns action Wednesday (April 12) with a 1 p.m. match against Shorter University in Rome, Georgia.
INSIDE THE SCORESHEET:
- Emily Bush recorded the lone YHC point at No. 2 singles as she defeated UNG's Johanna Lippert, who is ranked No. 66 in singles in Division II, in three sets. Bush won the first set 7-5, before Lippert claimed a 7-5 win in set two. Bush then won the super tiebreaker 10-8 to win the match.
