HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The Young Harris College softball team wrapped up play at the Charger Chillout Sunday (Feb. 12) afternoon.
The Mountain Lions fell to 4-6 after suffering losses to Kentucky State University (10-8) and to Mississippi College (14-0 in five innings). YHC returns to action Wednesday (Feb. 15) when they travel to Cleveland, Tennessee, for a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Lee University.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
KENTUCKY STATE
- The Mountain Lions collected 13 hits. Trinity Aycock had three hits, while Grace Young and Hannah Carey had two.
- YHC scored four times in the second to take a 4-2 lead. Aycock had an RBI triple down the left field line before Erin Chambliss followed with a run-scoring double down the left field line.Chambliss later scored on a wild pitch and Young added a single.
- The Mountain Lions added two runs in the fourth on a Young ground out and a Carey double.
- Shea Bayreuther had a RBI double and Aycock drove in another on a ground out in the sixth inning as YHC closed the deficit to 9-8.
- Teresa Dixon (1-1) took the loss in relief for the Mountain Lions.
MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE
- Gracie Hughes had both hits for the Mountain Lions. She had a single in the second and again in the fourth.
- Kylie Ferguson (1-2) took the loss in the circle.
