AUGUSTA, Ga. | Tyshaun Crawford and Miguel Arnold combined for 54 points as No. 11 Augusta University defeated Young Harris College 88-72 in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Saturday (Feb. 11) afternoon before 2,347 fans at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The Jaguars improved to 20-4 overall and to 11-3 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions slipped to 18-5 and 9-5. YHC returns to the Harp Recreation & Commencement Center Monday (Feb. 13) when they host Salem University in a 6 p.m. non-conference contest.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Crawford led the Jaguars with 31 points and 12 rebounds, while Miguel Arnold added 23 points.
- The Jaguars jumped out to a 17-point lead (24-7) after Crawford sank two free throws with 11:14 remaining in the first half.
- YHC got as close as 13 points (27-14) after Eden Davis hit a jumper in the paint with 9:47 left in the half.
- Augusta led by as many as 35 points (65-37) midway through the second half.
- Karl Chavis led the Mountain Lions with 18 points, while Christian Schach added a career-high 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting (5-of-9 from three-point range). Davis finished with 14 points, while Lenny Pradia posted 11 more.
- Kennedy Willis and Nate Dunlop led YHC with five rebounds.
- Augusta took a 50-32 lead at the half as the Jaguars shot 64.5 percent (20-of-31) from the field in the opening 20 minutes.
