Young Harris Falls Short to UNC Pembroke

Pembroke, N.C.| The Mountain Lions traveled to Pembroke on Saturday (Dec. 16) to face the Braves, ultimately falling short in a game that included four lead changes for each team. 

Young Harris fell to 3-8 on the season, while UNC Pembroke improved to 8-3 overall. The Mountain Lions have a break until their next game against Truett McConnel on Friday (Dec. 29) afternoon at the Harp Recreation and Commencement Center. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 

  • JaMari Frederick scored twenty points, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out three assists. 

  • Zaria Clark put up twenty points for the Braves and grabbed six boards. 

  • Crystal Corley led the Mountain Lions with seven rebounds in just 13 minutes of action. 

  • The Braves outshot the Mountain Lions 50.9% (27-53) to 42.1% (24-57) from the field. 

  • Young Harris drastically improved on free throw shooting from the previous game to this game, shooting 76.5% from behind the charity stripe. 

  • UNC Pembroke scored 26 points off turnovers, while YHC scored 18 points off turnovers.
