Late burst pushes Young Harris past Georgia Southwestern 86-75

AMERICUS, Ga. | Young Harris College reeled off 14 unanswered points late as the Mountain Lions defeated Georgia Southwestern State University 86-75 in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Saturday (Jan. 28) evening at the Storm Dome.

The Mountain Lions snapped their three-game losing streak as they improved to 15-4 overall and to 6-4 in the Peach Belt, while the Hurricanes slumped to 9-10 and 2-8. Young Harris welcomes Lander University to the Harp Recreation & Commencement Center Wednesday (Feb. 1) in a 7:30 p.m. league contest. The 15 wins are the most for YHC since they won 17 contests during the 2016-17 campaign.

  • After a Kennedy Willis free throw, Lenny Pradia added two free throws and an old-fashion three-point play to push the advantage to 76-67 with 1:38 to go.
