MARS HILL, N.C. | Coker University held on for a 22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 26-24 victory over Young Harris College Friday (Sept. 2) afternoon at Chambers Gymnasium on the first day of the Tony Fontanelle Memorial Volleyball Tournament hosted by Mars Hill University.

The Cobras, who have recorded two four-set wins over the Mountain Lions this season, improved to 3-2, while YHC fell to 1-4. The Mountain Lions conclude tournament play with two matches Saturday (Sept. 3). YHC faces King (Tenn.) University at 10 a.m. followed by a 4:45 p.m. match against Mars Hill.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

• The Mountain Lions are 4-1 so far this year in first-set wins.
• The match saw 33 tie scores and 18 lead changes, including 16 ties and nine lead changes in the fourth set.
• Chase Vaigneur set a career high with 24 kills as she hit .320 in 50 swings, while Sophie Bearden had 10 kills and hit .238 in 21 swings.
• Mollie Lawrence registered 39 assists, a new career high.
• Kori Still tallied a career high 29 digs, while Joha Bernis had nine. Kallee McKinney and Nicole Klucharich each had eight.
• Alex Pierre and Shelby Mullins each had three total blocks.
