YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College softball team droped a Peach Belt Conference softball doubleheader to Georgia Southwestern State University Saturday (March 5) afternoon at the YHC Softball Field.
GSW won the first game 9-2 and the second 8-0.
The Hurricanes improved to 12-8 overall and 2-0 in the Peach Belt , while the Mountain Lions fell to 6-9 and 0-2. YHC and Georgia Southwestern wrap up the three-game series at 1 p.m. Sunday (March 6).
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
GAME 1
- Grace Young led the Mountain Lions with four hits, including two doubles and drove in one of the two YHC runs.
- Kenzie Chappell added the final Young Harris run with a sacrifice fly to left field that scored Shae Bayreuther.
- Jill Dixon (2-4) took the loss for the Mountain Lions. Dixon pitched 6.0 innings allowed 11 hits and struck out four.
