DAHLONEGA, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's basketball fell to No. 14 University of North Georgia 89-70 in a Peach Belt Conference contest Wednesday (Feb. 16) evening at the UNG Convocation Center.
The Nighthawks improved to 19-3 overall and 13-2 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 12-13 and 4-12. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Feb. 19) against USC Aiken in a 1:30 p.m. PBC tip off at the YHC Recreation and Fitness Center.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Mackenzie Johnson led the Mountain Lions with 11 points and eight rebounds in the game.
- Carly Winters, Niaya White, and Olivia Tucker added 10 points each.
- Kalen Surles grabbed eight rebounds and dished out six assists.
- Josie Earnhardt and and Caroline Martin combined for 43 of the Nighthawks points. Martin led North Georgia in rebounds with seven.
- Young Harris shot 37.5 percent (24-of-64) from the field while North Georgia shot 58.2 percent (32-of-55).
- Young Harris was 16-of-22 at the free throw line.
