YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Jalen Gathers scored 17 points to lead Lenoir-Rhyne University to an 80-40 non-conference women's basketball victory over Young Harris College Saturday (Dec. 3) afternoon at the Harp Recreation & Commencement Center.
The Bears, who are ranked No. 20 nationally in the latest D2SIDA Media Poll, improved to 8-0, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-2. Young Harris will open its Peach Belt Conference schedule Saturday (Dec. 10) when they host Georgia College at 1:30 p.m.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- JaMari Frederick led the Mountain Lions with 11 points, while Mackenzie Johnson posted 10 points and 11 rebounds.
- Dustie Obah added seven rebounds and dished out five assists.
- YHC was 1-of-18 from three-point range, while Lenoir-Rhyne went 8-of-14.
- The Bears scored 27 points off 24 Mountain Lion turnovers.
