YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Alexa Geary scored 17 points to lead Georgia College & State University to a 55-46 Peach Belt Conference women's basketball victory over Young Harris College Saturday (Dec. 10) afternoon at the Harp Recreation & Commencement Center.

The Bobcats improved to 8-1 overall and to 1-0 in the PBC, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-3 and 0-1. YHC hosts Flagler College in a 1 p.m. Peach Belt contest Monday (Dec. 12).

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Young Harris led 14-12 after the opening 10 minutes, but the Bobcats took control in the second quarter as they outscored the Mountain Lions 17-3 and led 29-17 at the half. YHC only shot 1-of-13 from the field in the second quarter.
  • The Mountain Lions would get as close as seven points (40-33) as Carly Winters sank a three-pointer with four seconds left in the third quarter, but that would be as close as Young Harris would get.
