CLEVELAND, Tenn. | Lee University rallied for a five-set women's volleyball victory over Young Harris College Tuesday (Oct. 11) evening inside Paul Dana Walker Arena.
The Flames improved to 6-16, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-19. Young Harris steps back into Peach Belt Conference play Friday (Oct. 14) at 5 p.m. when they face Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Lee jumped out to a 2-0 lead as they took the first two sets by identical 25-19 scores.
- The Mountain Lions evened the match at 2 as YHC claimed sets three and four by scores of 25-19 and 25-22.
- The Flames used a 9-0 run midway through the rubber set en route to a 15-8 decision to claim the win.
- Sophie Bearden and Shelby Mullins each had 10 kills to pace the Mountain Lions, while Lily Hidalgo collected eight.
- Alex Boydstone led the way with 21 assists, while Mollie Lawrence tallied 12 more.
- The Mountain Lions registered 17 service aces, which was two off of the all-time high of 19, against the Flames. Kallee McKinney posted four, while Boydstone, Joha Bernis and Kori Still each had three.
- Bernis (15) and McKinney (10) registered double figures in kills, while Boydstone and Hidalgo had eight apiece.
- Mullins had five total blocks (two solo, three assists), while Alex Pierre and Boydstone had three each.
