YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Julianne Sutton and Abbie Franklin each scored 14 points as the No. 6-ranked University of North Georgia women's basketball team recorded a 69-36 Peach Belt Conference victory over Young Harris College Wednesday (Jan. 26) evening at YHC Recreation and Fitness Center.
The Nighthawks improved to 15-1 overall and to 9-0 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 11-8 and 3-7. Young Harris faces Georgia Southwestern State University in a 1:30 p.m. PBC contest Saturday (Jan. 29) at home.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Kalen Surles led the Mountain Lions with seven points, while Carly Winters and Olivia Tucker added five apiece.
- Mackenzie Johnson grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, while Magdalene Adebanjo pulled down five.
- YHC struggled shooting from the floor, hitting just 25 percent (11-of-44) of its shots.Â
- UNG outscored the Mountain Lions 38-12 in the paint, while the Nighthawks scored 27 points off YHC's 23 turnovers.
