AIKEN, S.C. | The Young Harris College women's basketball team fell to the University of South Carolina-Aiken 53-46 in a Saturday (Jan. 22) afternoon Peach Belt Conference contest at the Convocation Center.
The Mountain Lions fell to 11-6 overall and 3-5 in the Peach Belt, while the Pacers improved to 7-8 and 3-4. Young Harris travels to Americus, Georgia, Monday (Jan. 24) and will face Georgia Southwestern State University Conference game.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Carly Winters led the Mountain Lions with 12 points as she connected on four three-pointers.
- Mackenzie Johnson added 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
- Chidinma Okafor led USC Aiken with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
- USC Aiken led 26-17 at the half. Lindsey Caudell sank a three with 2:38 remaining in the fourth and got the Mountain Lions as close as two points (48-46); however, the Pacers scored the final five points of the game.
- USC Aiken led 42-32 in rebounds and had a 26-22 advantage in points from the paint.
