CHARLOTTE , N.C. | The Young Harris College volleyball team wrapped up play Saturday (Sept. 4) afternoon with two matches at the Queens (N.C.) Fall Classic in Curry Arena.

The Mountain Lions fell to 0-4 after falling to Chowan University 25-11, 25-16 and 25-23 and to tournament host Queens University of Charlotte 26-24, 25-18, and 25-20. Young Harris will return to action Friday (Sept. 10) at the King (Tenn.) Invitational in Bristol, Tennessee.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

vs. Chowan

• Three players - Alex Pierre, Lily Hidalgo and Annie Messler - led YHC with five kills each.
• Alex Boydstone collected 11 assists, while Joha Bernis posted 12 digs. Ginger Truncale added six assists, while Hidalgo had six digs and Pierre added five more.
• Pierre led the Mountain Lions with three blocks (one solo, two assisted).

vs. Queens (N.C.)

• Hidalgo posted 11 kills and had a .320 hitting percentage against the Royals, while Pierre had seven kills and no errors in 15 swings to hit .467.
• Boydstone had 15 assists for YHC, while Messler tallied 12 more.
• Pierre led the way with three service aces.
• Bernis collected 13 digs, while Hidalgo registered double figures with 10. Messler and Chase Vaigneur had eight apiece.
• Pierre added three blocks (one solo, two assisted), while Messler assisted on two blocks.
