HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Cara Brown scored six goals to lead the University of Alabama in Huntsville to a 16-7 Gulf South Conference women's lacrosse victory over Young Harris College Friday (April 9) evening at Charger Park.

The Chargers improved to 9-2 overall and to 2-0 in the GSC, while the Mountain Lions fell to 4-6 and 1-2.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

• Ella Hancock, Kinsley Purser and Taylor Greenberg each scored twice for the Mountain Lions while Ryann Haly had one.
• Ruthie Mandell, Hancock, Sierra Haas, Kelsey Dover had an assist each.
• Hancock led YHC with six draw controls, while Aubrie Valvo had three. Greenberg and Purser each added two.
• Dover collected three ground balls, while Sarah Beckwith scooped up two.
• Dover caused four turnovers, while Eryn Brown had three.
• Maddy Meyers had 10 saves in goal for Young Harris.
• UAH outshot Young Harris 41-14, including a 26-11 margin on goal.
• The Chargers held a 27-9 edge in ground balls, while the Mountain Lions had a 15-10 margin in draw controls.
