USC Aiken rallies for 12-11 win over Young Harris in 12 innings

AIKEN, S.C. | The University of South Carolina-Aiken rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 12th inning to record a 12-11 Peach Belt Conference baseball victory over Young Harris College Sunday (April 18) afternoon at Roberto Hernandez Stadium.

The Pacers improved to 19-14 overall and to 17-13 in the PBC, while the Mountain Lions fell to 18-13 and 16-11.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • The Mountain Lions smacked five home runs against the Pacers. Cole Jackson hit two home runs, including a first-inning grand slam. Tucker Greer hit his team-leading 17th homer in the second inning. Jackson Jones and Brandon Jolliff also each hit long balls for Young Harris.
  • Six of the 12 runs scored by the Mountain Lions were unearned as YHC committed three errors.
  • YHC collected 13 hits led by Dahlton Cash's three hits. Jackson and Brett Hawkins added two hits.
  • T.J. Byrd, Rome Wallace and Hawkins each had a double.
  • Jackson led the Mountain Lions with five RBI while Jones drove in two.
  • Reliever Levi Ayers (0-1) took the loss.
