Greer homers three times as No. 24 UNG takes series finale over YHC

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The No. 24 University of North Georgia baseball team used a 10-run second inning en route to a 14-7 Peach Belt Conference victory over Young Harris College Monday (April 12) afternoon at Zell B. Miller Field.

The Nighthawks improved to 24-9 overall and to 22-8 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 18-10 and 16-8.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Tucker Greer hit the first of his three home runs in the bottom of the first inning to give the Mountain Lions a 1-0 lead. Greer also hit solo home runs in the third and ninth innings. Greer, who leads the Peach Belt with 16 home runs, is the 19th player to hit three homers in game in the history of the league.
  • North Georgia broke the game up by scoring 10 runs off four hits, drawing four walks and being hit by three pitches in the top of the second.
  • Jackson Jones added leadoff homer in the bottom of the second to left field. It was his fifth long ball of 2021.
  • Starter Tucker Daniel (0-2) took the loss.
  • Greer led the nine-hit attack for the Mountain Lions with three hits, while Jones had two,.
