PEMBROKE, N.C. | The No. 14 University of North Carolina at Pembroke swept a Peach Belt Conference baseball doubleheader from Young Harris College Saturday (March 6) afternoon at Sammy Cox Field.

The Braves won the opener 6-2 before they scored four runs in the seventh inning to take the nightcap 7-6.

UNC Pembroke improved to 8-3 overall and to 6-2 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-6 and 3-5.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

Game 1

• After UNCP took a 3-0 lead, Young Harris got a run back in the top of the fourth inning on a Dahlton Cash RBI single to left field.
• YHC scored its other run in the eighth inning on a Cash's double down the left field line.
• Cash went 3-for-4 in the game with 2 RBI, while Tucker Greer went 2-for-4. Rome Wallace accounted for the other Mountain Lion hit.
• Chad Brown (1-1) took the loss for YHC.

Game 2

• Young Harris a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a two-out homer to center field by Noah Fitzgerald.
• The Mountain Lions tied the game at 2 in the fourth on an RBI single to left from Cash.
• YHC opened up the game with a four-run sixth inning to take a 6-3 lead. Fitzgerald led off the frame with a home run to right field - his second of the game and the season. Logan Worley also drove in a run with a run-scoring ground out. The Mountain Lions also added two unearned runs thanks to a UNCP throwing error.
• The Braves rallied to take a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the seventh as they scored four unearned runs as a result of a YHC error. 
• Cole Edwards (0-1) took the loss. Edwards had five strikeouts in 6.2 innings.
• Fitzgerald had three hits for YHC, while Cash added two more.
