No. 19 Trojans defeat Young Harris 17-7

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. | Kiara Burke and Shaelyn Yermal each scored five goals to lead 19th-ranked University of Mount Olive past Young Harris College 17-7 in a non-conference women's lacrosse match Sunday (March 21) afternoon at the Ray McDonald Sr. Stadium.

The Trojans improved to 6-1, while the Mountain Lions slipped to 3-4.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Aubrie Valvo led Young Harris with three goals, while Sierra Haas had two. Leigh Anne Turner and Taylor Greenberg contributed one each.
  • Anna Luckie, Ruthie Mandell and Turner each distributed an assist.
  • Mount Olive held a slight edge in shots 34-26.
  • The teams each had 15 ground balls and each recorded 13 draw controls.
  • Goalie Maddy Meyers, who had 11 saves, led YHC with three ground balls, while Turner, Valvo and Suzanne Moore had two apiece.
