ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | Young Harris College completed the Peach Belt Conference baseball series sweep over Flagler College Sunday (March 14) afternoon as they defeated the Saints 8-4.
The Mountain Lions, who have won their last four games, improved to 7-6 overall and to 7-5 in the Peach Belt, while the Saints fell to 5-11 and 4-7.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- The Mountain Lions jumped out a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Dahlton Cash's homer to right-center field. It was Cash's first long ball of 2021.
- Cash made it 3-0 in the third on his RBI single through the right side.
- After Flagler tied the game at 3 in the bottom of the six, Young Harris responded with a three-run eighth inning to take a 6-3 lead. Cash started the rally with a run-scoring single before T.J. Byrd and Logan Worley added RBI hits.
- Rome Wallace added a two-run double down the right field line in the top of the ninth.
- Tucker Greer went 4-for-5 for YHC with a double, while Cash went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI.
- Reliever McLain Harris (2-2) earned the win for the Mountain Lions. He allowed just one run in three innings with three strikeouts.
