Patriots take series finale from Mountain Lions

FLORENCE, S.C. | Darius Nobles drove in six runs as Francis Marion University picked up a 15-6 Peach Belt Conference baseball victory over Young Harris College Sunday (Feb. 28) afternoon at Sparrow Stadium.

The Patriots improved to 3-4 overall and to 2-4 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-4 and 3-3.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • John Miller led the Mountain Lions by going 3-for-5 and drove in a run with a single through the left side.
  • Dahlton Cash, Brett Hawkins and Cole Jackson each contributed two hits and an RBI for the Mountain Lions.
  • YHC took a 4-2 lead in the second inning after they scored four runs in the frame. Hawkins, Jackson and Kyle Ayers each drove in a run with a single, while Noah Fitzgerald drove in the final run on a fielder's choice.
  • The Patriots took control of the game with a seven-run third inning.
  • Tucker Daniel (0-1) took the loss for the Mountain Lions.
  • YHC pitchers struck out 10, including six from Levi Ayers in his 2.2 innings of work.
