CENTRAL, S.C. | Young Harris College edged Southern Wesleyan University 4-3 in a non-conference men's tennis match Saturday (Feb. 27) afternoon at the Rev Leroy C Cox Tennis Complex.
The Mountain Lions improved to 3-3, while the Warriors fell to 3-2.
Young Harris opened the match by winning the doubles point as
Ignacio Ascarrunz and
Kash Reddiyar won at the first flight, while
Romeo Luque and
Eric DelValle won at No. 3.
After Luque won at No. 5 singles to give YHC a 2-1 lead, SWU took a 3-2 lead after wins in the first and second flights. Young Harris won the match after
Rodrigo Mendoza won at No. 4 and DelValle won at No. 6. Mendoza pulled out a three-set victory - 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) - after being dropping the first set and down 3-2 in the second.Â
