YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Carson-Newman University edged Young Harris College 4-3 in a non-conference men's tennis match Sunday (March 7) afternoon at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.

The Eagles improved to 4-4, while the Mountain Lions slipped to 3-4.

Carson-Newman took a 1-0 lead after taking two of the three doubles matches. Romeo Luque and Eric DelValle picked up a 6-2 win in the third flight for the Mountain Lions.

Kash Reddiyar's 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles cut the Mountain Lion deficit to 2-1. Wins from Luque at No. 4 and DelValle at No. 6 tied the match at 3. Carson-Newman clinched the win when Ids Waterbolk outlasted Rodrigo Mendoza 7-5, 7-6 (5) at No. 3.
