Hurricanes hold off Mountain Lions 11-6 in series finale

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Gregory Wozniak hit three home runs and drove in four runs as Georgia Southwestern State University held off Young Harris College 11-6 in the Peach Belt Conferenve baseball series finale Sunday (Feb. 21) afternoon at Zell B. Miller Field.

The Hurricanes improved to 1-2 overall and to 1-2 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 2-1 and 2-1.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Tucker Greer led the Mountain Lions with three hits - all for extra-base hits - and drove in four runs. Greer had a RBI triple to right-center field in second inning and added a two-run homer to right-center field in the fourth. Greer added a leadoff homer to right field in the seventh.
  • Noah Fitzgerald, Jackson Jones, Bailey Campbell and Rome Wallace each had a hit for YHC . Jones' hit was a seventh-inning double to left.
  • Fitzgerald and John Miller each drove in a run.
  • Ryan Inches (0-1) took the loss for the Mountain Lions.
