LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The Young Harris College women's basketball team fell short to the University of West Alabama 69-65 Tuesday (Dec. 5) evening in Pruitt Hall. 

The Mountain Lions fell to 6-1 while the Tigers advanced to 7-2. Young Harris returns to action Friday (Dec. 10) in Emory, Virginia, with a 3:30 p.m. tip off against Emory & Henry. 

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE: 

• Niaya White and Mackenzie Johnson totaled 13 points and seven rebounds each for the Mountain Lions. 
• Carly Winters scored 11 points including three three-pointers and distributed five assists.
• Carissa Spiker also scored 11 points as she was 5-of-8 from the field, while Dashaun Jackson posted eight.
• Young Harris used a 7-0 run at the end of the first quarter and beginning of the second half to open up a 10-point lead (26-16) after a Jackson jumper with 9:10 left in the first half.
• The Mountain Lions and the Tigers went into the half tied at 36 points after a White layup with just over one minute remaining in the second quarter. 
• The Mountain Lions edged the Tigers 33-30 in rebounds. 
• Young Harris tied the game at 60 with 3:27 on the clock after a Johnson layup, but West Alabama took the lead for good on a Zoe Watts layup 28 seconds later.
• The Mountain Lions got as close as a point (64-63) after Winters hit a three-pointer with 69 seconds remaining, but that would be as close YHC would get as Tazs Garrett-Hammett hit a layup 20 seconds later and then hit two free throws to put UWA up 68-63 with 22 seconds to play.
