DAHLONEGA, Ga. | The Young Harris women's basketball team opened the 2021-22 season Friday (Nov. 12) afternoon at the UNG Convocation Center with a 71-57 win over Emmanuel (Ga.) College. 
 
The Mountain Lions improved to 1-0 while the Lions fell to 0-1. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Nov. 13) at the PBC/ Conference Carolinas Classic with a noon game against Lees-McRae University. 
 
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE: 

• Niaya White, Carly Winters, and Olivia Tucker each scored 12 points in the 71-57 win. 
• Winters, Tucker, and Carissa Spiker combined for seven three-pointers. 
• Mackenzie Johnson and Kalen Surles totaled nine rebounds each. 
• Surles distributed six assists.
• The Mountain Lions were 12-of-16 at the free throw line.
