Georgia College edges Young Harris in four

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Georgia College picked up a 25-15, 23-25, 25-17 and 25-12 Peach Belt Conference volleyball victory over Young Harris College Friday (Oct. 8) evening at the YHC Recreation and Fitness Center.

The Bobcats improved to 7-13 overall and to 2-3 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-13 and 0-4. Young Harris returns to action Wednesday (Oct. 13) when they travel to Orangeburg, South Carolina, for a 6:30 p.m. match against Claflin University.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Jessica Beckner collected 11 kills for the Mountain Lions, while Lily Hidalgo had 10, Shelby Mullins had nine and Annie Messler had eight.
  • Ginger Truncale paced YHC with 19 assists, while Annie Messler had 15.
  • Joha Bernis led the Mountain Lions with 14 digs, while Truncale had eight and Messler posted seven.
  • In the second set that the Mountain Lions won 25-23, there were 13 tie scores and the lead changed hands four times. Mullins had six of her kills in the second set for YHC.
