DAHLONEGA, Ga. | Abby Hubert scored 26 points to lead six players in double fiigures as 12th-ranked University of North Georgia defeated Young Harris College 101-68 Monday (Jan. 25) evening in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game at the UNG Convocation Center.
The Nighthawks improved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the league while the Mountain Lions fell to 2-1 and 2-1.
North Georgia used a 15-2 run in the opening minutes of the first quarter to take control of the game.
Caroline Martin added 14 points for the Nighthawks, while Julianne Sutton posted 12 more. Kara Groom, Abbie Franklin and Josie Earnhardt each tallied 10 points for UNG.
Niaya White and
Lola Lovitt each scored 16 points to lead Young Harris. Lovitt set a career high coming off the bench on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor, including 2-of-4 from distance.
Thalia Carter contributed nine points, while
Carly Winters added seven.Â
