YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Eleven players scored as No. 8-ranked Florida Southen College defeated Young Harris College 18-6 in a non-conference women's lacrosse match Friday (Feb. 14) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Moccasins improved to 1-0, while the Mountain Lions fell to 1-1. Young Harris returns to action Feb. 23 when they travel to Greeneville, Tennessee, for a 2 p.m. match against Tusculum University.
Florida Southern, who scored the game's first 11 goals, was led by Marina Jozokos's three strikes.
Taylor Greenberg and
Mary Deatrick each scored two goals for the Mountain Lions, while
Channing Milford had one. The Mountain Lions also added an own goal.Â
Milford had four ground balls for YHC, while
Eryn Brown scooped up three. Deatrick accumulated five draw controls, while Milford had two.
Maddy Meyers had five saves in goal for the Mountain Lions.
