hGREENWOOD, S.C. | Tabitha Dailey scored 29 points to lead Lander University past Young Harris College 94-64 in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game at Finis Horne Arena Saturday (Feb. 1) afternoon.
The Bearcats improved to 17-3 overall and to 12-0 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 12-8 and 6-6. Young Harris stays on the road for a 5:30 p.m. contest against Clayton State University Wednesday (Feb. 5) in Morrow, Georgia.
Young Harris took an 10-9Â lead with 5:44 to play in the first quarter on a
Kalen Surles layup, however, Lander used a 10-0 run to take a 19-10 lead after a Aniaya Jester steal and layup wih 2:36 to play. Lander took control of the game by scoring the first 11 points of the second quarter to take a 32-13 lead with 4:24 before halftime after a Makaila Cange putback.
Dailey scored her points on 12-of-13 scoring from the floor, while Jester finished with 12 points. Quin'De'Ja Hamilton added 11 points, while Miriam Recarte grabbed nine rebounds.
Niaya White led Young Harris with 14 points, while Winters added 11.
