MARS HILL, N.C. | The Young Harris College men's tennis team opened their 2019-20 season with a pair of victories Sunday (Sept. 15) at the Hart Tennis Complex.
The Mountain Lions, who improved to 2-0, opened up with 5-2 decision over Lees-McRae College before taking a 6-1 victory over Mars Hill University in the nightcap. Young Harris will open its home schedule Wednesday (Sept. 18) at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex with a 4 p.m. match against Emmanuel (Ga.) College.
Ignacio Ascarrunz and
Kash Reddiyar helped YHC earn the doubles point in the Lees-McRae match with a 7-6 (4) at the No. 1 flight.
John Brett clinched the win at No. 6 singles when his opponent retired with Brett up 6-2, 6-3.
Young Harris won five of the six singles matches as they easily defeated Mars Hill in the second contest.
