ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | Drew Wilson threw a complete game shutout for Young Harris College as they defeated Flagler College 2-0 in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game Sunday (March 24) afternoon at Drysdale Field.
The Mountain Lions improved to 19-10 overall and 8-5 in the PBC, while the Saints fell to 16-16 and 10-8. Young Harris travels to Jefferson City, Tennessee, Wednesday (March 27) for a three p.m. contest against Carson-Newman University.
The Mountain Lions scored the only two runs of the game in the top of the first inning after
Tucker Greer scored on a wild pitch and Dahtlon Cash hit a RBI groundout to the pitcher that scored
Zavier Lushington.
Wilson (1-2) threw the fifth shutout of the year and third one-hitter of the year for Young Harris as he gave up one hit, one walk, and struck out one in nine innings pitched. Wilson faced two batters over the minimum as he allowed only one base runner to reach second base.
Lushington went 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored, while
Tyler Washington had two hits. Cash had one RBI and
Tristin Smith,
Ethan Underwood, and
Corley Reynolds each collected one hit.
Blair Calvo (0-1) earned the loss for the Saints as he gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits with one walk and six strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched.
