DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | Ten different Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University players scored as the Eagles defeated Young Harris College 26-6 in a non-conference women's lacrosse match Saturday (March 16) afternoon at the ERAU Lacrosse Field.
The Eagles improved to 6-3, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-4. Young Harris returns to the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field Tuesday (March 19) for a 6 p.m. match against Tusculum University.
Young Harris pulled within a goal at 4-3 on a
Leigh Anne Turner strike off a pass from
Mary Deatrick with 11:44 remaining in the first half, but the Eagles closed out the half on a 8-2 run to take a 12-5 lead at the half. Embry-Riddle started the second half by scoring the first 13 goals in a row to open up a 25-5 lead.
Anna Luckie led the Mountain Lions with two goals, while Deatrick,
Erika Cross, Turner and
Taylor Greenberg had one goal apiece. Cross, Deatrick,
Maddie Peek and Turner each dished out an assist.
Cross led the way for Young Harris with three draw controls, Luckie had two. Luckie scooped up four ground balls, while Greenberg accumulated three.
Rachel Robb (10) and
Hailey Johnson (1) combined for 11 saves in goal.
