YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Tusculum University rallied to win four singles matches to hold off Young Harris College 4-3 in a non-conference men's tennis match Sunday (Feb. 24) afternoon
The Pioneers improved to 3-1, while the Mountain Lions fell to 0-5. Young Harris returns to action March 9 when they host Emmanuel (Ga.) College in a 2 p.m. match.
Young Harris took a 1-0 lead as they won the doubles point.
Ignacio Ascarrunz and
Kash Reddiyar earned a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles, before
Javier Villar and
Herman Ronnberg claimed a 7-6 (7-3) win at No. 3.
The Mountain Lions extended their lead to 3-0 as Villar picked up a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles and
Romeo Luque took a 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 5. However, the Pioneers claimed the final four singles matches for the victory.
