DAHLONEGA, Ga. | Young Harris College fell to No. 6 Georgia College 13-1 in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game Sunday (Feb. 24) at Bob Stein Stadium in Dahlonega, Georgia.
The Bobcats improved to 8-4 overall and 4-0 in the PBC, while the Mountain Lions fell to 6-6 and 2-2. Young Harris hosts Clark Atlanta University in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Tuesday (Feb. 26) at Zell B. Miller Field.
Wesley Wommack put Georgia College on the board first with a two-run homer as part of a six run first inning.
Brett Hawkins pushed across the lone run for the Mountain Lions with a double to center field in the second inning that scored
Bailey Campbell.
The Bobcats scored six runs in the third and one more in the sixth inning.
Bradly Cammack (3-1) picked up the win for Georgia College as he gave up one unearned run on six hits with one walk and four strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched.
Cameron Williams (3-1) earned his first loss of the season for Young Harris as he gave up six runs on four hits with one walk and one strikeout in 0.1 innings pitched.
Cole Jackson and
Tucker Greer led the Mountain Lions with two hits apiece, while Hawkins picked up a hit and one RBI.
Dahlton Cash also tallied one hit.
