YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College fell to Columbus State University 74-55 in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Saturday (Feb. 23) afternoon at the YHC Basketball Arena.
The Cougars improved to 14-10 overall and 11-9 PBC, while the Mountain Lions fell to 5-21 and 3-17. Young Harris travels to Milledgeville, Georgia, Wednesday (Feb. 27) for a 5:30 p.m. PBC contest against Georgia College.
Columbus State started the game on an 11-0 run over the first 2:28 before ending the first quarter on a 14-3 run. The closest the Mountain Lions would get the rest of the game would be 12 points (54-42) after a layup by
Sarah Woghiren.
Lindsey Caudell and Woghiren both picked up 12 points and three rebounds for Young Harris, while
Jessica Beckner had 9 points and four rebounds.
Tatiana Wayne tallied 22 points for the Cougars, while Leeaysia Williamson had 19 points.
