YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College fell to No. 22 University of North Georgia 70-42 in the Battle of Blood Mountain women's basketball game Wednesday (Jan. 16) evening at the YHC Basketball Arena.
The Nighthawks improved to 11-2 overall and 6-1 in the Peach Belt Conference, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-12 and 1-8. Young Harris hits the road Saturday (Jan. 19) in St. Augustine, Florida, against Flagler College in a 1:30 p.m. PBC contest.
North Georgia started the game on a 10-0 run over the first 1:36. The closest the Mountain Lions would come was a seven point deficit (13-6) after an
Avery Jordan layup midway through the first quarter.
Sarah Reid finished with nine points and five rebounds for Young Harris, while
Pamela Diokpara collected six points and 10 rebounds.
Tamera Thorpe tallied 17 points for the Nighthawks, while Amber Skidgel totaled 11 points. Abbie Franklin and Imani Arnold each had 10 points.
