YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Mary Deatrick and
Hayley Bartlett combined for nine goals as Young Harris College soared past Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University 21-8 in a non-conference women's lacrosse match at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field Saturday (March 17).
The Mountain Lions snapped a four-match losing streak as they improved to 6-4, while the Eagles fell to 5-4. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (March 23) at 11 a.m. when they host Saint Leo University.
Young Harris jumped out to a 9-0 lead over the first 12 minutes. Bartlett scored three goals during that streak for the Mountain Lions, while Deatrick added two more.

Katie McNutt scored during the decisive rally.Â
Deatrick led the Mountain Lions with five goals, while Bartlett added four more. Cross, McNutt,
Kelsey Dover and
Anna Luckie each scored twice, while Kernohan,
Leigh Anne Turner,
Meghan Tonnesen and Lepine had one each. Kernohan tallied two assists for Young Harris, while Cross, Deatrick and Turner had one each.
Lepine led the way for the Mountain Lions with six draw controls, while Deatrick collected four. Dover, Tonnesen and
Kirsten Barth had two draw controls each. Dover and Tonnesen scooped up three ground balls for YHC, while
Hannah Sacristan had two more.
Julia Darroch (eight) and
Rachel Robb (seven) combined to stop 15 shots in goal for the Mountain Lions.
