Win streak hits seven as Mountain Lions fly past Eagles 17-7 on Senior Day

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Bevan Pate scored four goals and assisted on four others as Young Harris College defeated Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University 17-7 on Senior Day Sunday (March 11) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

The Mountain Lions, who improved to 7-3 with their seventh consecutive win, honored its six seniors - Chandler Bradley, Sean Dever, Jake Dunlop, Julian Infanti, Matty Ledon,  and Darrien Mask. Young Harris steps back into Great Lakes Valley Conference action Saturday (March 17) with an 11 a.m. home match against No. 20 University of Indianapolis. The Eagles remained winless in five tries. 

Young Harris jumped out of the gates scoring the first six goals in the first eight minutes. Bradley had three of the scores, while Pate, Bruce Silk and Ledon had the other goals. After Embry-Riddle scored the next three goals, Young Harris scored nine of the next 10 goals as Young Harris took a 15-4 lead on the second of two man-up goals by Ledon with 4:56 left in the third quarter.

Bradley and Ledon also finished with four goals. Silk added two while Dunlop, Nolan Moon and Jimmy Martelli each finding the back of the net once. Garrett Blake tallied three assists while Silk, Bradley, Hayes Johnson and Daniel Zimny had one apiece.

Young Harris had a 47-32 advantage in shots and a 31-25 edge in ground balls. Zach Stephenson had 12 face-off wins for YHC and scooped up six ground balls. Silk added four ground balls, while Alex Venturino  and Jakcson Kohler each corralling three more. Dever had 10 saves in goal for the Mountain Lions.
