COLUMBUS, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's golf team wrapped up their first tournament of the year Tuesday (Sept. 26) afternoon at the Cougar Invitational presented by AFLAC.
The No. 23 Mountain Lions shot 299 on the par 71, 6,515-yard layout at the Country Club of Columbus to finish the 54-hole tournament in a tie for 11th place at 875. Tournament host Columbus State University led the 18-team tournament wire-to-wire with a score of 835, 10 strokes better than the next best team.
David Wallin was the top YHC finishers as he tied for 17th place at 214 after carding a 72, while
Ryan Emery tied for 49th at 221 after posting a 76.
Valter Andersson also registered a 76 and tied for 59th place at 223, while
Anton Karlbom fired a 75 and tied for 62nd at 224.
Trey Pearson tied for 70th place at 227 after a 78 in the final round.
The Mountain Lions return to the links Monday (Oct. 2) when they travel to Dahlonega, Georgia, to compete at the UNG Fall Invitational.
